It is usually dependant on your lease if you or your landlord are responsible for electrical testing to be
carried out.

If you are going to rent a property then this is always something that should be agreed beforehand.

What is the time scale between electrical inspections on a commercial property?

For many commercial installations a duration of five years is recommended with the exception of a premise with a higher risk environment were we recommend a interval of 3 years.

Do I need surge protection?

We recommend surge protection for all circuits supplying sensitive electronic equipment as well as to protect computer and telecommunication systems from loosing data or becoming damaged by a sudden spike in the electrical supply.

What should I expect from an electrician?

Under many circumstances electrical work does not have to be carried out by a NICEIC electrical contractor but the NICEIC are commonly recognised by insurance company’s as setting the bench mark for electrical safety.

Does my electrical work have to be carried by a NICEIC registered contractor?

You should expect your electrician to be competent and have a minimum of city and guilds recognised qualifications and a NVQ Level 3 qualification in electrical installation.

All our engineers are fully Approved electrician and hold jib Approved status to satisfy the needs to be a Full scope NICEIC Electrical contractor.

You should make sure that any electrical contractor is fully qualified and competent with full insurance or in the unfortunate event of a electrical incident your own insurance policy could be null and void.
